A reaction to pollen
In hay fever, the immune system reacts to plant pollen. Typical symptoms include sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, and itchy, watery eyes. Allergy testing helps identify the triggers.
Treatment options
Medicines such as antihistamines or corticosteroid nasal sprays can relieve symptoms. Allergen-specific immunotherapy, also known as desensitisation, can reduce symptoms over the longer term.

Depending on the product, treatment is given by injection or under the tongue and continues over several years. Whether it is suitable for you will be discussed individually. A particular outcome cannot be guaranteed.
Pay attention to your breathing too
Some people also develop asthma. A new cough, wheezing or shortness of breath should be assessed by a doctor.
